What Makes Fiat Punto Evo a Great Car

The Italian manufacturer Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino widely known as the popular Fiat has one of the prestigious collections of cars with Punto Evo as one of its market-leading products. After coming to the markets first in the year 1995, it underwent major changes and had a facelift in the recent times making it one of the appealing cars of the time. Being the industry giants, the manufacturers bought out the best of Punto making it one of the beautiful looking city cars. The chassis has been reworked while the body has been made extra sleeker and coupe styled to appeal the buyers of all ages.

The best part about the new Fiat is that it can easily hit the 62 mph mark within 8.5 seconds, thanks to its 133 bhp multi air turbo petrol engine. Making good use of the newly invented valve technology, the engine displaces more torque than traditional ones in addition to having modern day improvisations including the balancer poppets and throttle independent intake valves. The result will amaze you with its features, such as good emission control, fuel economy, variable timing, and a sophisticated driving experience. Thanks to the energy saving products from companies like Enigin, several cars and fuel systems now offer advantage of being energy efficient.

Based on the new revved up engine, its throttle response is quite sharp, and even on low speeds it can sustain the balanced control giving the steering a better grip. Steering control is sharp and high speed slides are easy to pull off with the six speed gear box. The 17-inch wheels roughly stick to the road for better road grips and absorb bumps well. With fuel prices shooting high, it’s better to invest on a petrol car like the Punto Evo that has enough legroom along with good leather cushions for comfort ride. The new version of the car quite justifies the price.

Fiat To Continue Its Italian Legacy

Fiat To Continue Its Italian Legacy

Fiat is one of the brands that have greatly influenced the Italian car market. They have contributed to the development of the country in many aspects and have given the state more than simply an industry – they have covered the name of Italy with fame just like Ferrari and Alfa Romeo. People, however, started to doubt Fiat’s Italian roots after the car maker joined forces with the American based GM and moved quite a lot of its production cycle in the US.
Now, however, things are going to change. Fiat alleged that they are going to invest a significant financial capital in Italy in order to re populate the Fiat factories and to start producing cars and exporting them right from the motherland of their industry. The Italians might once again look upon the brand as Italian and not multinational citizen on the marketplace, they might once again consider the fame this car brand has always been giving to the Adriatic country.
The newest models that Fiat is working on are to be constructed exactly in Italy. The car maker declared that with over 20 billion Euros of investment in the country, it will aim to increase the productivity, to establish a well connected market with the rest of Europe and to retain Italy as the heart and soul of Fiat. And Italy needs these investments – the country would be quite positively influenced by these developments as the new factories would decrease the unemployment and would insert quite a significant financial inflow in the state economy.
Thus Fiat would become the Italian Enigin – not because it would be focusing on energy savings, but because it would present new opportunities to the Italian people, it would continue the development of the industry and it would significantly contribute to the Italian economy.

MultiAir Technology

MultiAir Technology

The Best Engine of the Year 2010 award was picked up by Fiat this time. The 1.4 MultiAir Engine, an ingenious revolution in engine design truly deserved to win the prize. Strictly for petrol versions are the moment, it has a number of ups and downs, all for the good reasons.
In principle, the engine doesn’t require the throttle valve. The engine is capable of direct control of air intake. The electronic hydraulics system is responsible for movement of the inlet valves which in turn reduces the amount of fuel needed, just incase your in the mood to flatten your foot on the accelerator. The things that go down in the are emissions, CO2 emission is down by 10%, CO emissions by 40% and NOx emissions by 60%. The things that go up are power, torque and mileage impressively by 10%, 15% (respectively) and mileage by I don’t know how much exactly. But I do know that 170 BHP version of the engine can perform at 124BHP/mile. These fabulous results are all because of the dedication at Fiat that aims to reduce emissions and increase mileage without compromising on fun (something sure Enigin would acknowledge ).
The best part about the engine is that it can be easily fitted in all petrol model cars, and soon to be mastered; diesel as well. This engine could be well be the future of emissionless motoring in the future. All the engine is a four cylinder electro-hydraulic managed inlet valves car, but the result have been phenomenal, and in turn Fiat picks up the best Engine award. Hopefully we can see them entering WRC soon as compact and efficient turbo charged engines look those could come well in handy to increase air intake and engine performance on platform where cars are choked with sand and dirt.

It delivers 250Nm of torque at 2250 rpm and is able to propel the car from 0 to 60mph for less than 8 seconds. The fuel consumption is impressive – 47mpg. The CO2 emissions are only 142 which guarantee you low tax group. Of course if your drive the car as a lunatic the fuel consumption will increase significantly. Remember this is not a Hybrid car, but a powerful hot hatch, it is meant to be driven fast. The aerodynamics of the car has been improved significantly. The front bumper is bigger with modified air intakes which allow for enough cool air to enter the radiators. The rear bumper has an integrated splitter which increases the down force. The car is equipped with 17” racing wheels with low profile tyres. All those modifications make the car better to handle, more agile through the corners and last but not least they increase the safety. The interior can be order in different trim levels. According to your taste you can choose from Racing seats, leather upholstery and different multimedia options. Fiat Punto EVO Abarth has an integrated system that lets you choose between sport and normal mode. The sport mode makes the brakes more aggressive and sharpens up the steering. Fiat is the most ecological car manufacturer

According to the latest statistics Fiat is the most ecological car manufacturer in Europe. The data includes the top 10 car manufactures and Fiat has shown the lowest CO2 emissions for its entire range sold during the first half of 2010. The average carbon dioxide that Fiat cars emit is 123,5g/km.

According to JATO Fiat has the advantage leaving behind even Toyoa with 128,0 g/km. Fiat scored two more records. The most ecological car is a Fiat 500 with only 116,0 g/km followed by Fiat Panda with 118,9g/km. Both cars are cheaper and more efficient than the highly anticipated insight hybrid from Honda.

Even Fiat Group, which includes Ferrari and Maserati, has won the first place with only 126,2g/km followed by Toyota Group, which is famous for its Toyota and Lexus hybrids, with 130,5g/km. Fiat is the only Group to cover the EU standards for 2015 of 130g/km.

Fiat mission statement has been to reduce the harm that the cars that are coming from its factories, do to the environment. It has developed numerous technologies and tries to educate its customers how to drive more efficiently. Almost all of Fiat models have the Start & Stop and brake energy regeneration systems.

Fiat has introduced a new, two cylinder engine called TwinAir with 85bhp which produces only 92g/km CO2. This is currently the most efficient and most economical engine in the world. It will be fitted into the Fiat 500 and the other small cars, including Panda and the new Uno. The engine is only 875cc but has 25% more torque than the current 1,4 100bhp engine and 30% better fuel consumption.

Fiat takes the education of the drivers seriously. In 2008 it has launched special software called “eco:Drive” that advices the driver how to drive more efficiently according to their current driving habits. For two years the software has been downloaded more than 140 000 times and is used every day by more than 50 000 people all over Europe.

The Fiat 500: The Way We Were Is Now

comments off

Remember those days heading through Manchester airport parking and seem a lot of Fiat 500 on the lot. Back then many of us were in love that car and are now still marvelling at the genius of its makers. These days that fiat 500 design seem to have been given a rebirth or it just the cyclic nature of fashion and designs, in the super mini part of the automotive industry.

Yes the fiat 500, that old icon from Italy that turned up on the streets in the 50’s is back in a big way. This car represented what the average man wanted, a car that was not fussy, got about easily, offered great performance, and at a good price. When the 1970’s rolled around that old look however had to give way to more modern designs as tastes changed and improvements in vehicle technology changed. People moved away from this small car and fiat stopped its production all together.

Now some 30 years later and the world is demanding smaller cars that are much more economical, and that are fuel efficient. Fiat in their wisdom has resurrected the Fiat 500 and have re-released it onto the market.

The new Fiat 500 is a little different however from its distant predecessor with its much sportier look. The interior has a retro look to it and is well put together. There is good space at the front and the seat although kind of funky looking work well with the rest of the interior.

Under the hood of this two-door is a 1.2 litre engine that churns out 70 horses. You can get a 1.4 litre unit with its 100-133 horses if you like.

Its new Dualogic automatic transmission does not shift as easily as one would like, especially in traffic. It’s kind of jerky. The Fiat 500 nonetheless handles good and we Fiat lovers will surely get one and go reminisce about old times.
